Two or more yes answers? You’ve spotted epistemic violence disguised as business intelligence.
The semiconductor folks—who actually understand exponential growth from living Moore’s Law—publish boring, reasonable charts. The AI application layer publishes charts drawn during religious ecstasy combined with a stroke.
That divergence tells you where actual value gets created versus where perceived value gets marketed.

My betting strategy: Chinese AI for 3-5 year returns. EU AI for 10-20 year stability. But honestly? Both might get overtaken by whoever figures out energy-efficient inference first.

So we’ll get the bubble before sustainable business models.
Is AI a Teenager or a Dictator? Yes.
If AI were a person, it’d be a precocious teenager with narcissistic tendencies and occasional delusions of godhood, funded by anxious parents who can’t decide between boundaries and indulgence.
Massive potential plus erratic execution. Confident proclamations about things barely understood. Desperate for validation while contemptuous of criticism. Convinced it’ll change everything while struggling with basic follow-through.
The dictator framework explains the rest. Centralized control masked as decentralized benefit. Demands for trust without accountability. Quietly assuming it knows better than you what you need.
Both personalities share a trait: They mature over time, but not always positively. Teenagers become responsible adults or entitled narcissists. Dictators become benevolent leaders or full tyrants.
We’re in the phase where AI’s personality is still forming. Decisions being made now about training data, deployment ethics, profit versus safety are literally shaping what AI becomes.
And we’re making those decisions at venture capital velocity. Poorly, quickly, with insufficient consideration for second-order effects.
Real Talk: Your Move
The AI bubble isn’t a bubble. It’s a phase transition. The economy isn’t popping—it’s reorganizing around new infrastructure realities whether we’re ready or not.
Your strategy depends on position. Founding companies? Build on stable abstractions and plan for compute costs dropping 10x while capability improves 2x. Investing? Follow picks and shovels—infrastructure appreciates while applications churn. Employee? Develop skills that complement AI rather than compete with it.
The competition is already over.
But mostly? Stay weird. The convergent thinking AI promotes creates opportunities for humans who think orthogonally. The machines aren’t replacing us. They’re making human cognitive diversity more valuable than ever.
The bubble will pop eventually. All pressure systems equalize. What emerges won’t be the old economy restored—it’ll be something stranger, more distributed, and possibly more interesting.
